The system features a built-in IR enhancement for sharp video pictures even in total darkness, impressive screen resolution, long camera range and simply uses your home's established wiring system.
With no wiring, configuration, mounting, drilling or finicky antennas, this sturdy, weatherproof, high quality design is great for indoor and outdoor use.
Images from the sophisticated, patented camera hidden inside the light bulb shell are transmitted over existing electric wires for interference-free viewing that is more reliable than RF wireless systems. And the infrared camera even “sees” in complete darkness.
I don't have a DVR. Will I need to purchase one for this to work?
Answer by Rosemarie
Sandra,
You only need a DVR if you want to record the video. If you just want to view the live video, you can view it on any TV or monitor that has an RCA jack - which almost all do. It truly is a plug-n-play product with no installation.

Amy asked
If I want this in two locations do I need to buy two devices? Also what channel on the tv does it come on? And if it screws in the light fixture then you would screw the light bulb in it too? Also I am supposing since the picture shows a light that is adjustable and can face across that is the kind that has to be used? Meaning does it work if the light bulb faces toward the sky?

1. Since the signal is sent over the electrical lines in a house or office, only one camera can be used on any given circuit. However, the same camera can be seen simultaneously from different locations with the purchase of additional receivers.
2. The picture is viewed through the Video channels of the TV. Most remote controls have a TV/Video button so you can switch between viewing the camera and the TV.
3. Although the camera looks like a light bulb, it does not illuminate. If you replace the light bulb with the camera, then you cannot use the light bulb in the same socket. The best solution is to have more than one socket available if the area also requires light - and this can be done by inserting an extension cord into the wall socket and then running the camera and the needed illumination off of the extension cord.
4. Yes, the camera works in any light condition including total darkness and is adjustable to any angle. It has an 85 degree wide angle viewing range and can focus on objects from two feet to infinity.
Janet asked
Does this record? I am having a problem with someone putting nasty things on my front porch and frontdoor handle? Will I be able to see a recording when I get home from work or wake up in the morning?? janet
Answer by Rosemarie
Yes it records like any video camera to a DVR. The instructions that come with the unit explain how to hook it up. Many small businesses use this camera for the same purpose such as recording parking lot, loading dock, and cash register activity.
