Sometimes you just want to leave all that fancy foreign cuisine behind and tuck into a plate of the food that helped build this nation and makes us strong to this day – a burger, a pot roast, meatloaf, a rack of ribs, mashed potatoes and – of course – lots of gravy.

Fashioned on the small-town taverns of the Midwest heartland, Pete & Shorty’s has been serving up classic American dishes since 1997. With 2 locations in Clearwater and Pinellas Park, they’ve become firm favorites throughout the area thanks to the friendly and welcoming ‘down home’ atmosphere and the fantastic food.

Pete’s Pot Roast is a particular favorite, as are the Baby Back Ribs with the in-house fried Onion Straws and ‘Slaw, and the slow roasted, on-the-bone Pork Shank is too good to be true. There’s also burgers, sandwiches, salads and a ton of sides – and look out for the daily specials like Wednesday’s homemade Meatloaf Dinner (with real mashed potatoes), or Tuesday’s BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich and Slaw.

Great food and great atmosphere; Pete & Shorty’s is the place to gather with friends, relax, gossip, eat, gossip, drink and talk about other people! And the full bar (with the coldest beer in town) keeps the conversation flowing.
