We here at CrowdSavings.com love a bit of BBQ and so we were delighted by the opening of Holy Hog Barbecue in April. Perfectly slow smoked pulled pork, fall-off-the-bone chicken and St Louis style spare ribs, 3 in-house sauces (smoky sweet, Carolina mustard and hot), baked beans and baked mac ‘n’ cheese to die for, and our very own Chad Jaquays’ all-time personal favorite – apple crisp.

The family behind this great little BBQ joint has been in the restaurant business for 31 years and what they don’t know about cooking ‘the hog’ isn’t worth knowing. Selecting only premium grade meats, Holy Hog smokes its meats to heavenly perfection – no wonder it’s called Holy! – and everything is cut to order so your food comes to you hot and fresh. Meaty, flavorful ribs, top-notch brisket and a pulled pork sandwich so big you’ll have to eat half the meat first before you can get your mouth around it.

The atmosphere is laid-back, family style eatin’ and the prices are just as easygoing: Lunch will set you back around $6 and dinner usually comes in under $10 – but there’s nothing cut-price about the size of the portions!

Holy Hog Barbecue says it aims to be the best southern BBQ in the bay area and with food this good it’s bang on target.
