When we think of European cooking, perhaps France and Italy are more famous, but Central European cuisine has a rich heritage that influences what we eat today – just think of juicy bratwursts on the grill, or an escallop of meat, both have been enjoyed throughout Austro-Germany for centuries. And where do you think apple strudel came from?

Predominately landlocked, the diet of the German and Austrian peoples consisted of meat, and plenty of it! Cafe Vienna has collected these old country recipes and created a mouthwatering menu of dishes you won’t find anywhere else. The Jaeger Braten (tender pork roast with mushroom jaeger sauce and spaetzle) was particularly good and the Brauerei Plate consisting of a grilled bratwurst, debreciner (smoked sausage), slice of leberkaese (ground meat ‘loaf’) with sauerkraut and German potato salad was every meat lovers dream.
