So exacting is owner and head chef Carlos Valverde that he subtly alters his dough every day to account for differences in the weather which cause minor discrepancies if left unchecked. He is equally fastidious over the ingredients themselves; only filtered water is used in the dough and all the ingredients are brought in from New York and New Jersey to ensure consistency of quality.

It was in New York and New Jersey that Carlos earned his stripes; making pizza in these ultra-competitive and hyper-critical pizza markets. Drawing from generations of know-how and traditional recipes passed down through his Sicilian father’s family, he rapidly established himself as a true master of the art and won much acclaim.

Astra Pizza offers great calzones, Stromboli’s, subs and salads, but it’s their signature pizzas that steal the show. Available in 12”, 14” and family-friendly 18” sizes are, amongst others, the Classic NY, Meat Lovers, Hawaiian Delight and Cajun, or you can build your own pizza with any of Astra Pizza’s fresh toppings. The also do an excellent lunch combo for two, including 2 slices, a pizza roll and 2 drinks all in for $8.99. Sweet!
