Everything about The Garden is impressive – it’s Tampa Bay’s oldest jazz venue; it’s the city of St. Pete’s oldest restaurant; it was once the city’s oldest hotel, built by two of St Pete’s founding fathers; Babe Ruth ate there; Ringo Starr recently ate there; and Jim Morrison played there!
The Garden – as its name implies – features a beautiful outdoor setting, rich with tropical plants and a wonderful natural ambiance, while the interior is an artistic expression of bohemianism – well in keeping with the jazzy roots of the place.
The diverse menu is equally as praiseworthy. Delicious selections of Spanish Tapas or French/African influenced ‘Amuse Bouche’ easily serve as a light lunch, Italian salads work perfectly alone or as compliments to any meal, and outstanding pastas and entrées make for the perfect hearty dinner.
The Garden also boasts the excellent Lobby Martini Bar, located in the upstairs section. The Lobby is a full liquor bar open Wednesday through Saturday and features live DJ's, techno/trance and hip-hop/contemporary nights. For those seeking something more traditional, The Garden’s world-class house jazz band – The Buster Cooper Trio – have played every Friday and Saturday evening since 1995.
